Wink Wink Ink DT cards Welcome Baby!

Photobucket

These are my design cards for this week at Wink Wink Ink Stamps.

The name of the stamp is "Special Delivery".

By changing the colors and sentiments a little it is very appropriate for girls or boys!

My papers are of course my favorite Bazzill and baby papers from Heidi Grace.

I found a cute little Stork Charm for the boy card

and a little dressy baby shoe for the Girl card in my stash.

The ribbons were leftover pieces also from my stash, and my images were colored with copics.

My sentiment was computer generated.

On Friday night we attended my father-in-law's 80th birthday cookout. We had lots of fun visiting with family! Saturday, had me heading to northern Indiana, for my niece's Bridal shower. I am so proud of her that she waited until she found the best that God had for her. She was thinking that she was going to be an "old maid"(She is 28). But instead of settling and compromising her values she is marrying the perfect fella for her! I made a bridal card for her last week. I have to say that Charlotte from Midnight Madness gave me the idea for this wonderful card.

Photobucket
I wanted to use musical paper, in my card but had difficulty finding anything without alot of color in it. I ended up printing a song sheet out on card stock. Flowers were purchased at Archivers.

Photobucket
I used my new Holtz sizzex die cut for the swirls that were cut out of the same musical paper.
My eyelet trim are actually paper ribbon, that I just had to fasten down. Scripture sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Stamps. I thought that it was a perfect reminder for her that waiting on God's best is a beautiful thing!

Photobucket

This is a picture of one of the games that we played at the Bridal Shower. We were divided into 3 groups and given 3 rolls of toilet tissue and had to create a wedding dress. The two girls on the left side are my nieces, Molli and Britney along with one of their friends. They were all good sports. It took forever to braid that toilet tissue without it breaking. Can you tell which group I was in? (hint... far left ;) ) It was lots of fun!

Photobucket
Jessica (The up coming Bride, in the background) and her sister Molli. Even though there is a wide age span (11 years) , they are very close!

Pixie Cottage Challenge #20 with 2 cards this week!

It is another Once Upon A Wednesday . It is wonderful to have Bev Rochester from All The Things I Love as our guest designer this week.
Bev designs cards for companies like Magnolia, Stampavie and Whiff Of Joy and others too numerous to mention. So here is this weeks sketch.

As well as the sketch we have an optional technique of adding a Tag or a Pocket to your card, remember you can chose the sketch, the technique or both!

One randomly picked winner will get their choice of 2 Pixie Cottage Stamps and the Design Teams Top Three entries will get to display the winners badge on their blog.
Winners will be announced on the Friday following the end of the challenge.
I have 2 cards to share with you this week for The Pixie Cottage. Both cards have images from The Pixie Cottages' new Digital Line. The new Digital Stamp line is illustrated by ARTISH.

Photobucket
This graduation card was created with Artish's Monkey Digital Stamp that is available over at The Pixie Cottage called Digital Stamps Let the Monkey Business Begin by ArTish
I used Bo Bunny & Bazzill papers for this cute card. My graduate was colored with copics and cut out and layered on cardstock that I embossed with my cuttlebug folder.

Photobucket

My next card was created with Digital Stamps Beary Special Wedding Bride by ArTish and Digital Stamps Beary Special Wedding Groom by ArTish. This card was created for a challenge that Michelle's Scrapbooking (Pixie Cottage) is sponsoring this week over at the Creative Inspirations Challenge. I distressed the edges of my papers and cardstocks. My cute Bride and Groom were colored with copics and layered for dimension.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

I just love Priscilla's Butterflies!
The template for this easy envie as well as those wonderful Butterflies are available at her store.

Photobucket

For the sketch I made my matching envelope to my Butterfly Happy Birthday Step card.

Photobucket

My main butterfly was created using Priscilla's Butterfly Digital Stamp Set.
I used chunky glitter as well as stickles for my glitterly affect on the butterflies.

Pixie Cottage Challenge # 19 ; 3-D Decoupage Paper Tole

It time for another Wednesday Challenge from the Pixie Cottage.
This week we have a wonderful sketch for you designed by one of our own design team members Pam!
As well as the sketch we have the technique challenge of Paper Tole. Some people call this Decoupage and the technique involves multiple layers of the same initial image. So you stamp more than one of the image and then cut out and pop up parts of the image to form dimension in the layers. It is not cutting out a whole of the image, just the parts that would be at the front/top layer if the image was in 3D. Hopefully you'll be able to see some of the effect on the teams cards.
Remember also that our challenges are "Take Your Pick" and you can choose to do the sketch, the technique or both!

One randomly picked winner will get their choice of 2 Pixie Cottage Stamps and the Design Teams Top Three entries will get to display the winners badge on their blog.
Winners will be announced on the Friday following the end of the challenge.

This week I used this adorable stamp called
Love Bug by Eileen Gutierrez

My papers were 29th street Market by My Mind's Eye and my favorite solid is by Bazzill. While I was out at our local Micheal's, I found the Ladybug MS punch on clearance as well as these cute ladybug embellishments by Jolee. So I just had to use them!
I colored and shaded my ladybug image with copics on 3 layers. By cutting out just parts of the image and popping it up with dimensional foam pieces the 3-D look was achieved.
Join in our challenge with either the sketch or both and show us that beautiful artwork.

I am linking my card to these challenges:
Cute Card Thursday - Someone Special
Digi Doodle Best - Ribbon
Twisted Thursday - Ribbon
Pixie Dust - Cut It Out
Your Next Stamp - Cut It Out and Pop It Up
Creative Inspirations - Punches or Die Cuts (I used both)
Crafty Cardmakers - Inside Out

For my card this week, I used one of my favorite stamps from our sponsor Stamp and Create! This angel is sooooo sweet! She was colored with copics. Her wings were glittered with dazzling diamonds from Stampin Up. I broke out my old button box, for this card. I used some old and some new buttons to find the right color combination. I added a few rhinestones in the centers too. Even my ribbon was layered on and was from some old ribbons that were purchased at a garage sale years and years ago. My designer cardstock was from my stash from several years back. I used my favorite standby of solid bazzill in the layering.

For my BBQ Recipe, I decided to include my favorite recipe for BBQ sauce. I always seem to run out of sauce and this is so easy to make from ingredients that I always have in the house.

Denise's Smoky BBQ sauce:
Mix in a saucepan:
3 Tbsp Worcestershire
1 minced glove of garlic
1 cup ketchup
2 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup cooking oil
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp vinegar (I use apple cider vinegar but white will work)
2 Tsp liquid smoke (any kind will do)(is in the section near to the worchestershire sauce and is a clear smokey flavored liquid)
1 medium onion, grated
1 Tsp celery salt
1 Tsp chili powder
Tabasco (depends how spicy you want it, a few drops for flavor, 1-2 tsp or more for spice)
Simmer on low for 1/2 hour
Wonderful on chicken, beef or pork. Enjoy!

Please share your favorite recipes with us! I will stop by for a sample!

I am entering this card into these challenges:

The Character cafe - recycle and reuse (my buttons are from old recycled buttons)

ABC Challenges - U is for unused stash (I have had my papers for several years)

Tusday Taggers - Step out of your comfortzone (I am really uncomfortable with using alot of buttons)

Shellys Images - Anything goes

Cute Card Thursday - Someone Special ( I made this card for one of my best friends)

Pollycraft - Summer Blooms (blossoms in my image)

Pixie Dust Studio - Cut it out

La la land - Anything goes

Your Next Stamp - Cut it out and pop it up

This is my design card for this week for Wink Wink Ink Stamps. This set is called Cat Napping and it is just adorable. What I like the most about digital images is the ability to change the size. I have popped out my chair as well as my adorable kitty.
Flowers are by Prima (I colored plain flowers with my copics to match my image.
Papers were by bazzill and my designer papers were in an old stack of cardstock by DSW.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For my design card this week, I inked up a Penny Black stamp that I have had for some time called "Coop Party". I found some nifty glue stickers that I used sparkle on for color. It was the first time that I have ever used them and thought that they turned out pretty well. It actually looks like it was part of the ribbon instead of an added embellishment. My papers were from a old stash of DW that I needed to use up. On my tag is stamped "Happy Birthday". As you can see I simply flipped the sketch on the side to accommodate my image shape.
I am linking this card to the following challenges:
